Beatbox or beatboxing is the art of imitating drum beats with the help of voice and mouth. The idea behind this type of vocalization is to mimic as closely as possible how drums sound when played with a drumstick or sticks. It is also used as an instrument on its own to perform rhythm, melodies and choruses. Beatbox can also be defined as the art of making music by mimicking drum beats using only the human mouth, throat, tongue, and other parts of the vocal tract. Commonly beatbox is known as the art of imitating drums sound, but it's not just that, beatbox also imitates vocal percussion, music instruments, and also incorporating various sound effects such as DJ scratching, synthesizers, and bass lines.
